This scheme was an improvement of the N21 National Primary Road on the western outskirts of Adare Village including renewal of road pavement, footpaths and traffic islands. It also included the design of a public surface car park, upgrading of the surface water sewer and provision of an attenuation tank. Our services included design, Part VIII, ground investigation (contract documentation and supervision), detailed design, tender documentation and award, and Project Supervisor Design Process. The site is beside the Maigue River which is part of the Lower River Shannon SAC, so AA Screening and Flood Risk Assessment were carried out. Surface water attenuation and pollution interception measures were incorporated in the drainage design. The presence of hard limestone at shallow depths posed a significant construction issue.
